Should a dash cam be hardwired or plugged into the 12V outlet?
Hardwiring is what lets the camera keep watching while you are away from the car, because a plugged-in camera only runs when the car does. Hardwiring also hides the wiring instead of leaving a cord across the dash, and it frees your 12V outlet for other things.
