Why the 12V Outlet Cannot Do It
In most vehicles, the 12V outlet and the USB ports die when the ignition does. A camera plugged into either one records while you drive and sleeps the moment you park, which means no parking mode at all. - Sort out an aging battery first. If your battery is already on its last legs, parking mode will find that out before you do. Fix the battery, then add the camera load.
